Myanmar's Ministry of Education has instructed all private educational institutions, including international curriculum schools, to complete school registration and license renewal procedures in accordance with existing regulations.
The announcement followed a meeting held on July 13 at the Ministry of Education's Office No. 13 in Nay Pyi Taw between the Private Education Supervisory Committee and representatives of private colleges, international curriculum schools, and national curriculum schools.
During the meeting, Union Minister for Education Dr. Daw Chaw Chaw Sein, who chairs the Private Education Supervisory Committee, delivered opening remarks. Deputy Ministers Dr. Zaw Myint and U Nay Myo Hlaing discussed regulations covering school fee structures, rules governing private subject-based tuition centers, school registration and license renewals, teacher recruitment and employment standards, as well as measures to promote patriotism and preserve national culture.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Education also provided additional briefings on matters related to private schools and private colleges. Representatives from private schools following both the national and international curricula, along with private college representatives, presented their views and recommendations.
The meeting concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which private school representatives raised concerns and sought clarification. The Union Minister responded to the issues raised, and participants coordinated on measures considered necessary for the implementation of the regulations.
