A total of 109 schools have resumed operations in Tedim Township, Chin State, with more than 12,000 students currently attending classes, according to local authorities.
Officials said that 109 schools are now open across the township, providing education to 12,047 basic education students. In addition, 61 students are enrolled in vocational training programs specializing in industrial technology, agriculture, and livestock breeding, bringing the total number of students to 12,108.
On June 25, Deputy Minister for Construction U Myo Myint visited basic education high schools in Tedim Township to inspect classroom activities and observe the teaching and learning process.
Deputy Minister, accompanied by departmental officials, traveled by road from Kalay to Tedim. During the trip, he inspected the condition of the Kalay–Thaingnging–Tedim road and also visited schools in Tedim Township to assess their operations.
The Deputy Minister and his team inspected the condition of the Kalay–Thaingnging–Tedim road and said that the roads should be constructed in accordance with the road designs specified by the department, necessary repairs and maintenance should be carried out for long-term sustainability, the targets to be implemented should be completed on time, drainage ditches should be constructed in a systematic manner to improve water flow, culverts should be constructed in necessary places, water should be prevented from accumulating during the rainy season, and the direction signs should be installed according to the specified features and the responsible officials should be organized in advance and strictly monitored to prevent landslides and road closures during the rainy season.
Next, the Deputy Minister, along with members of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee in Chin State, visited the No. (1) Basic Education and Industrial, Agriculture and Livestock High School in Tedim and met with students, After observing the peaceful learning conditions of the students, they continued to visit basic education schools in Tedim. Tedim District Education Officer, Township Education Officer and school principals explained the educational conditions and needs of the students.
After that, the Deputy Minister and his team toured Tedim by vehicle and visited the Ministry of Construction, Road Department, and Tedim District Engineering Office to meet with the staff.
