Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing said the government is firmly and steadily advancing on the democratic path with clear objectives and direction, rather than acting without a defined plan.

He made the remarks during a Union Government meeting held in Nay Pyi Taw on June 9.

The President said the current administration is an elected government chosen by the people and urged officials to work together in serving public interests. He also called for better coordination among government staff, stronger public relations, and fair administration in accordance with laws and regulations without placing unnecessary burdens on the public.

He stressed that security inspections across regions and states should focus only on security matters and should not become a burden for the public. While inspections related to illegal trade and anti-drug operations are necessary, he warned against unlawful money collection and corruption.

U Min Aung Hlaing also urged civil servants and security personnel to avoid abuse of power, bribery, and misuse of public funds, saying such actions could damage the image of the government and undermine national stability.

He added that strengthening the economy is essential for currency stability and improving people’s socio-economic conditions. The President called on all officials to cooperate in ensuring the success of government responsibilities and national development efforts.

The meeting was attended by Vice Presidents U Nyo Saw and Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye, Union ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, while regional and state chief ministers joined via video conference.
