The UEC statement stated that the Hluttaw candidates and their election representatives who contested the general elections held in phases starting from December 28, 2025, must submit the election expenses statement to the relevant sub-commissions within 30 days from the date of announcement of the name of the elected Hluttaw representative by the relevant Region or State Sub-Commission in accordance with the provisions of the law, in accordance with Section 55 and Rule 102 of the relevant Hluttaw Election Law. A Hluttaw candidate or his election representative who fails to submit the election expenses statement as prescribed shall be guilty of an illegal act under Section 66 (f) of the relevant Hluttaw Election Law.

The Union Election Commission has formed election panels to determine whether or not to classify those who fail to submit an election expense report as disqualified. The election commissions found that 41 Hluttaw candidates failed to submit their election expenses within the specified date, and accordingly, they were disqualified under Section 108 (a) of the relevant Hluttaw Election Rules and reported them to the Commission.

The Hluttaw candidates and their election representatives who have been declared disqualified are not allowed to contest as Hluttaw candidates in the elections held during the current Hluttaw term from the date of this announcement in accordance with Section 88 (d) of the relevant Hluttaw Election Law, and the Hluttaw candidates who contested in National Hluttaw, Region Hluttaw or State Hluttaw (Proportional Representation) constituencies have also been removed from the list of Hluttaw candidates compiled in accordance with the priority order of political parties submitted in accordance with Section 22 of the relevant Hluttaw Election Law, the UEC announced.
