Student enrollment for the 2026–2027 academic year began today, May 25, according to the Ministry of Education.
The ministry announced that the school enrollment week for basic education schools will run from May 25 to May 31.
Authorities said no fees will be collected during the enrollment process, and students will receive free school uniforms, textbooks, exercise books, pencils, and pens.
The Ministry of Education also released guidelines for enrollment at basic education schools for the new academic year.
The statement said that no charges, including tuition fees, parent-teacher association fees, sports fees, stationery fees, or library fees, will be collected.
Free textbooks, exercise books, pencils, and pens will be provided to students from Kindergarten (KG) to Grade 12, depending on their school year.
The ministry also urged parents and guardians not to give money or gifts to principals, teachers, or school staff.
