Yangon- The Union Election Commission (UEC) on Thursday released additional results for the Phase Two elections, announcing winning candidates for the Pyithu Hluttaw (Lower House) in 42 townships.
According to the announcement, the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) secured 36 of the 42 seats. One seat was won by an independent candidate, Zawtika U Khin Hlaing, in the Kyi Myindaing constituency. The Pa-O National Organization (PNO) won one seat in Hsi Hseng, the Danu Ethnic Democracy Party won one seat, and the Shan and Ethnic Democratic Party (SEDP), also known as the White Tiger Party, won three seats in Kunhing, Mong Kung and Laihka constituencies.
With the latest announcement, results have now been confirmed for Pyithu Hluttaw constituencies in all 100 townships included in Phase Two. Of these, the USDP won 86 seats, the National Unity Party (NUP) won two seats, one seat was won by an independent candidate, and 11 seats were secured by six ethnic political parties.
Earlier, on January 15, the UEC announced that in 52 of the 100 Phase Two townships, the USDP had won 44 seats. The NUP won two seats in the Myothit and Satturthara constituencies. Other ethnic parties also recorded victories: the Kachin State People’s Party won one seat in Machanbaw, the Karen National Democratic Party won one seat in Hlaingbwe, and the Mon Unity Party won four seats in Mudon, Thanbyuzayat, Ye and Paung.
The UEC also reiterated that in six townships—Mingin, Wuntho, Mawlaik, Ye-U, Yebyu and Gangaw—only USDP candidates contested the elections. As there were no opposing candidates, USDP nominees in those constituencies were automatically elected.
Separately, results from Phase One of the elections, held on December 28, 2025, showed that in 102 Pyithu Hluttaw constituencies, the USDP won 89 seats. The remaining seats were won by ethnic parties, including the National Unity Party (two seats), PNO (three), Naga National Party (four), Shan Ni (Tai-Leng) Nationalities Development Party (one), Rakhine Nationals Party (one), Mon Unity Party (one), and the Shan and Ethnic Democratic Party (one).
Following the completion of both Phase One and Phase Two, a total of 202 Pyithu Hluttaw seats have been decided. The USDP holds 175 seats, while one seat was won by an independent candidate. Ethnic parties secured the remaining seats, including the PNO (four), Danu Ethnic Democracy Party (one), SEDP/White Tiger Party (four), National Unity Party (four), Kachin State People’s Party (one), Karen National Democratic Party (one), Mon Unity Party (five), Rakhine Nationals Party (one), Naga National Party (four), and the Shan Ni (Tai-Leng) party (one).
In addition, based on UEC announcements released up to January 8, Phase One results for the Amyotha Hluttaw (Upper House) show that the USDP won 21 seats, while other seats were secured by ethnic parties, including the Wa National Party (one), Zomi National Party (three), Arakan Front Party (three), Rakhine Nationals Party (one), Naga National Party (one), and the Mon Unity Party (one).
