The Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) announced on January 14 that it will sell an additional US$25 million to fuel business operators in the foreign exchange market.
Earlier, on January 7, the CBM had announced the sale of US$22 million to fuel importers through the foreign exchange market.
Previously, on December 31, the CBM stated that it would sell 10 million Chinese yuan to importers and US$23 million to fuel business operators. This followed similar announcements on December 24, when US$23 million was allocated to fuel importers, and on December 17, when the CBM said it would sell US$32 million to fuel business operators.
On December 12, the Central Bank of Myanmar announced that it would sell US$28 million to fuel importers, on December 3, the Central Bank of Myanmar announced that it would sell an additional US$30 million to fuel importers, on November 25, CBM announced that it would sell an additional US$28 million, on November 19, CBM announced that it would sell an additional US$27 million, on November 12, US$27 million, on November 8, US$30 million, on October 28, US$22 million and 100 million Thai baht, on October 21, US$30 million, on October 14, another US$27 million, on October 8, US$30, on October 2, additional US$25 million, on September 3, another US$30 million.
The Central Bank of Myanmar sold $30 million to fuel oil producers on August 5, US$32 million on August 13, US$32 million on August 20, and US$32 million on August 26, totaling US$126 million in August.
