The National Defence and Security Council (NDSC) has issued Order No.11/2025 on November 26 granting amnesty to 2,361 prisoners serving sentences under Section 505-A of the Penal Code.

The National Defence and Security Council has set a goal to implement the multiparty democracy system that the entire people desire, in line with its focus on successfully advancing the multiparty democracy system.

In order to ensure that all eligible voters do not lose their right to vote in the upcoming multiparty democracy general election and to vote freely and fairly, 2,361 prisoners serving sentences under Section 505-A of the Penal Code who have been convicted of crimes and are serving sentences in various prisons and detention centers have been granted amnesty and the remaining sentences to be served under have been commuted and pardoned under subsection 1, Section 401 of the Penal Code.
