Some Western powers and their countries of influence are imposing economic sanctions and using the media attacks, said Prime Minister U Nyo Saw at the Union Government meeting (5/2025) held at the Union Government Office, Office No.18 on November 19.

Efforts are being made to ensure the stability and success of the country’s political, economic, social and electoral affairs. Some Western powers and their countries of influence are currently imposing economic sanctions and using the media to attack our country. The Head of State has been working on these measures during summits with regional organizations and during goodwill visits to world powers, and has interacted with many international leaders. The Prime Minister said that through the meeting, the international community has understood the unilateral accusations against our country and the terrorist attacks and sabotage activities of domestic and foreign opposition groups against the people, and has achieved positive interactions and enhanced international trust in our country.

The Prime Minister said that effective efforts are being made to eliminate the transnational crimes that are currently taking place in the border areas and the border-based armed groups that are committing casino and online gambling with international criminal groups. From October 2023 to mid-November 2025, 68,009 foreigners from 52 countries who illegally entered Myanmar through neighboring countries have been deported to their respective countries through neighboring countries. The government is also working as a national responsibility to eliminate gambling groups that have entered the country illegally through neighboring border routes and have established themselves in the border areas and are committing online fraud. The Prime Minister continued to say that relevant ministries and officials in the area need to take action to ensure that the international community is informed about the current situation in Myanmar.
