The remains of Acting President U Myint Swe were transferred from the residence of repose to the Tatmadaw Military Cemetery in Nay Pyi Taw this afternoon (August 11).

The funeral motorcade carrying U Myint Swe’s remains was accompanied along the route to the cemetery by government officials, representatives from political parties, and members of the diplomatic corps.

At the military cemetery, U Myint Swe will be laid to rest with full military honors.

U Myint Swe passed away on the morning of August 7 while receiving intensive care at the Special Intensive Care Unit of No. (2) 1,000-bed Military Hospital. Today’s ceremony (August 11) is being conducted as a state funeral.
