Child killed, two injured as strong winds uproot tree onto house in Panglong, Shan State

A 10-foot-wide tree fell on a house in Panglong, Shan State, due to strong winds, killing one child and injuring two others, according to the Myanmar Fire Services Department (MFSD).

The incident occurred at around 6:30 pm on July 31 in Ward No. (3) of Panglong Town, Loilem Township, Loilem District, Shan State, when a 10-foot-wide tree fell on a house due to strong winds.

A fire engine from the Loilem District Fire Station, a fire engine from the Panglong Area Fire Station, firefighters, and auxiliary firefighters were dispatched to the scene to carry out rescue operations.

A child was killed and one man and one woman were injured in the incident, according to the MFSD.
