Reports indicate that some Myanmar workers have been arrested in Malaysia due to complaints from local residents.  

On the night of July 1, Malaysian authorities conducted an "Ops Raya" raid on an apartment in Cheras Ria, Kuala Lumpur, following reports from the community. Sources among Myanmar workers in Malaysia confirmed that most of those arrested were Myanmar nationals.  

Additionally, on June 25, in Malacca state, another operation led to the arrest of 22 Myanmar nationals for incomplete documentation.  

A Myanmar worker currently employed in Malaysia said, "The situation in Malaysia has become much tougher. It's worse than before. If neighbours report you and your documents aren't complete, you'll get arrested. The raids are more aggressive now, so we have to be extra careful."  

Since May, the Malaysian government has been intensifying operations targeting undocumented migrant workers, including those from Myanmar.  

In a major crackdown between May 29 evening and May 30 early morning in Selayang, Kuala Lumpur, a joint operation by seven Malaysian agencies resulted in the arrest of 1,435 undocumented foreigners. Among those arrested were 1,222 Myanmar nationals, 142 Bangladeshis, 9 Indians, 2 Indonesians, and several Nepalese citizens.  

Another raid took place on June 2 at the BM Shopping Centre in Batu Pahat, Penang, where more arrests were made.  

Similarly, on May 23, authorities raided Mentari Court in Sungai Way, Selangor, detaining 597 individuals with incomplete documents. The detainees included 226 Myanmar nationals, 201 Indonesians, 71 Bangladeshis, 46 Pakistanis, 44 Nepalese, 8 Indians, and 1 Thai national, according to Malaysian news sources.
