Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Chongqing-based Myanmar group to launch direct flights between Yangon and Chongqing, China, according to reports.
The MoU signing ceremony was held on May 19, 2025, in Chongqing, People's Republic of China. Attendees included U Khup Khan Mung, Chief Executive Officer of Myanmar National Airlines, officials from the Chongqing Myanmar group, representatives from the Chongqing provincial government, the Myanmar Consulate Office in Chongqing, and invited guests.
Myanmar National Airlines is planning to begin operating direct flights on the Yangon–Chongqing–Yangon route in early August 2025.
Currently, the airline operates the Yangon–Kunming–Yangon route using Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
For this service, passengers are entitled to a 20kg checked baggage allowance and a 7kg hand-carry allowance.
The Yangon–Mandalay–Yangon domestic route is also operated using Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft, with ticket prices set at MMK 242,000 per trip, according to MNA.
MNA’s domestic routes, such as Yangon–Mandalay–Yangon, are served by both Boeing 737-800 NG and ATR 72-600 aircraft.
Flight tickets from Yangon to Mandalay cost MMK 242,000 and can be purchased through the MNA Call Center at 01-377840, 01-377841, or 01-377842. Tickets are also available via the MNA website at www.flymna.com and the MNA mobile app.
Domestic and international tickets from Myanmar National Airlines can also be purchased at their headquarters at No. 104, Strand Road, Kyauktada Township, Yangon, as well as at MNA branch offices and authorized sales agents across the country.
Flight schedules for all domestic routes can be viewed in real time on the MNA website.
Tickets can be purchased online using Credit Cards, Debit Cards, MPU Cards, KPay, and CB Pay through www.flymna.com.
For domestic flights, check-in counters open two hours before departure and close 30 minutes prior to departure.
