In a message to the Union Day ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw on February 12, the State Administration Council (SAC) Chairman stated that the door to peace is being opened to resolve political issues politically. He urged local ethnic groups to appeal to armed groups to seek solutions through political means.

The 78th Union Day ceremony was held at the City Hall in Nay Pyi Taw on the morning of February 12, and the message sent by SAC Chairman, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing to the ceremony was read by SAC Vice Chairman, Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win.

The State Administration Council is holding discussions with political parties and ethnic armed groups to achieve internal peace and lasting peace. While there may be differences of opinion among individuals in the path to a multi-party democracy system, demanding one’s own desires through armed violence is a wrong path and will not achieve true and beneficial results. So if there were misunderstandings and conflicts among our ethnic groups, they can only be resolved through dialogue, the Union Day message of the SAC Chairman states.

Therefore, the door of peace is always open to resolve political problems through political means. He also requests the local ethnic groups to urge the armed groups to seek political solutions through negotiation and to encourage the ethnic groups to work together to walk on the path of dialogue to end armed conflicts and achieve lasting peace, the Union Day message from the NACA Chairman states.

The ethnic groups have a deep desire to live and eat peacefully, are full of sympathy and a desire to help each other, and are naturally honest and pure. Due to the colonialist rule, the ethnic groups have been unstable with armed conflicts till today, and peace talks have been held for generations. Efforts are being made to achieve lasting peace by signing the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) and ending armed conflicts, it said.

A united and vigilant country will always be developed forever, and without unity, the country will perish like salt in the sea. The development of a country must be carried out with the unity of the people in the country. The most basic and most important requirement for the development of a country is peace and stability in the country. The rule of law can be implemented from peace and stability in the country and the people's lives, safety and socio-economic development can also be brought about, it said.

In resolving the internal problems and conflicts of our country, some foreign countries are creating internal conflicts to the point of regional conflicts. If the unity of the country is broken, it will be weakened and modern colonialists may intervene. In order to maintain the country as an independent and sovereign country, not to be subject to others, to ensure peace and stability in the country, the rule of law, and to develop the country's economy, all ethnic people must unite and prevent violence, it said.

Myanmar will only be strong if the government, the military, and the people, who have the main responsibility for national defence, are united. Therefore, all ethnic people of the Union are urged to work together with the government, the military, and the people for the stability and rule of law in the country, it said.
