Tens of thousands of people were forced to flee their homes in Launglone Township, Dawei District, Taninthayi Region, following intense clashes in December 2024, according to groups assisting displaced persons.

The Dawna Taninthayi IDP Assistance Organization, which provides food and healthcare services to displaced communities, reported that villagers fled their homes after fighting erupted on December 23, 2024.

The organization also stated that they distributed rice, edible oil, dry noodles, and onions to 394 displaced households and provided healthcare support to 598 displaced individuals.

Although the situation in the region has since stabilized, hundreds of displaced people remain, with some having returned home, according to aid groups.
