The Customs Department has announced that the entry of high-value electric passenger vehicles into customs bonded warehouses will only be permitted until January 31, 2025.
According to Export and Import Notification (7/2024), the Trade Department released a list on November 30, 2024, identifying five categories of goods, including 685 HS Code 10-digit product lines, raw materials, machinery, and related components imported under the CMP system, eligible for storage in customs warehouses.
Meanwhile, under Export and Import Notification (2/2024), the Trade Department stated that storage permissions for four categories of goods, covering 1,100 HS Code 10-digit product lines, would be valid only until December 31, 2024.
For four of the five product categories listed in Notification (7/2024), including 685 HS Code 10-digit product lines, applications for storage in customs warehouses will be processed starting January 1, 2025. Similarly, raw materials, machinery, and related components imported under the CMP system can be stored in customs warehouses starting December 1, 2024, upon application.
As per the guidelines of the National-Level Committee for the Development of Electric Vehicles and Related Industries, the entry of high-value electric passenger vehicles into customs warehouses is limited to January 31, 2025. However, regular taxis, public transportation vehicles, and business-use vehicles will continue to be permitted for storage as before, according to the Trade Department’s statement.
