The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar has announced that fresh pineapples from Myanmar will be permitted for import into China, provided they meet specific pest control requirements.
This follows a recent notice from the General Administration of Customs of China outlining the conditions for the import of Myanmar pineapples.
Currently, the Philippines leads as the largest exporter of pineapples to China, supplying 43% of the total imports, followed by Japan (30%) and Korea (14%). In Myanmar, pineapples are grown across various regions, with significant cultivation in Shan State and Pyin Oo Lwin.
