Authorities seized over 1.31 million stimulant tablets worth approximately 1.31 billion kyats (about $623,809 USD) during a raid at the Thiri Yadana Bus Terminal in North Oakkalapa Township, Yangon Region, on November 13.

Acting on a tip-off, a combined team of Anti-Drug Police searched a passenger bus operated by driver Hla Min Tun, assistant driver Myint Thu Soe, and conductor Phyo Kyaw Zaw (alias Moe Htet Myint) at around 3:30 p.m. The drugs were concealed inside food packs on the bus.

Investigations revealed that the drugs had been transported from Shan State to Yangon under the arrangement of the bus owner, Aung Khaing Htoo, and his wife, Moe Sabe, residents of Leikkone Village in Nyaung Shwe Township, southern Shan State.

The suspects admitted to purchasing two passenger buses using profits from drug trafficking. Both vehicles were confiscated by authorities.

Three individuals involved in transporting the drugs were arrested, and investigations are ongoing to identify others linked to the crime.

Authorities are also implementing the Anti-Money Laundering Law to seize the financial gains and assets derived from the illegal activities.
