Due to a low-pressure system and strong winds, rainfall is expected across almost the entire country until September 25, with the possibility of heavy rain and strong winds in Sagaing Region, Mandalay Region, Kachin State and Kayah State, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.

As of 12:30 PM on September 23, observations indicated that the low-pressure cell forming in the east-central part of the Bay of Bengal had moved westward, reaching the central part of the Bay, where it remains. It is predicted that the low-pressure cell may continue moving westward and could develop into a low-pressure zone in the west-central part of the Bay of Bengal within the next day, according to the department's statement.

Due to the impact of this low-pressure system and strong winds from the monsoon, continuous heavy rain is expected across Nay Pyi Taw, Magway Region, Bago Region, Yangon Region, Ayeyawady Region, Taninthayi Region, Chin State, Rakhine State, Kayin State, and Mon State until September 25. Isolated heavy rainfall and strong winds may occur in specific areas of Sagaing Region, Mandalay Region, Kachin State, and Kayah State, the department announced.

The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has also warned that with the heavy rain, strong winds, flash floods, and landslides may occur, particularly in hilly areas. Residents living near rivers or streams are advised to be cautious of rising water levels, and those involved in inland water and air transportation are urged to take preventive measures.
