A man from Sein Taung Ward, Kamawek Town, Mudon Township, was shot dead in his farm hut in the early hours of September 18, according to local sources.
The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Naing Kyaw Naing (aka A Pyit) from Sein Taung Ward, Kamawek Town. Reports indicate that around 4 a.m. on September 18, an armed group entered his farm hut near Kamawek Creek, located in Gon Nyin Tan Ward, Kamawek Town, where he was sleeping with his wife and daughter. The group reportedly shot him with a firearm, according to a local witness.
The witness further explained, "The armed group climbed up to the farm hut and shot Naing Kyaw Naing with a small firearm. At the time, both his wife and daughter were also present in the hut."
Naing Kyaw Naing (aka A Pyit), who was shot, sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the back of his head and multiple injuries to his back. He died at the scene in his farm hut, according to local sources.
It is still unclear which armed group was responsible for the shooting or the motive behind the killing of Naing Kyaw Naing. Earlier, on the night of September 4, an unidentified armed group also shot and killed U Aung Min Naing, a local militia leader from Hni Padaw Village, Mudon Township, along with his son, Thu Ya Aung, at their home, according to locals.
