Cleanup of mud and debris is continued in Myawady as Thaungyin River receded and some schools remain closed.

The water of the Thaungyin River, which flows from the confluence of Walley Creek, Golli Creek and Mae Kala Creek at the foot of Mount Dona, flooded in the high areas of Bayint Naung Road in Ward 5, Myawady City, from September 10 to 12 and the roofs of every house in the low areas were submerged.

Although the water receded on September 12, the city's municipal council, the police, DKBA troops, fire brigade members, Myawady Foundation, charity organizations and local residents are still cleaning up the mud and debris left behind.

A tractor, a backhoe and five garbage trucks from the Myawady Foundation are working to clean up mud and debris at the surrounding areas of a high school in Ward No.3 and Mogok Set Win Monastery.

An official from the Myawady Foundation said that there was as much debris as when the flood occurred in the last week of July, but the mud was more than last time.

Similarly, police officers headed by the Myawady District Police Chief, members of the municipality, fire brigade members, DKBA troops and charity organizations are jointly cleaning the No.1 Basic Education High School Branch and the surrounding road in Ward No.2.

Myawady has been flooded every year, but this year, it has been flooded twice. The second time, the water rose more than the first time.
