Senior General Min Aung Hlaing stressed that the foundation of the law is discipline and highlighted the importance of providing educational programs and guidance to improve understanding of legal principles. 

Speaking as the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), he noted that some armed ethnic groups attempted to expand their territories amid the ongoing political crisis.

During his address to members of the Shan State Government Committee and departmental heads at the City Hall in Taunggyi Township, southern Shan State, yesterday morning, the Senior General discussed the current security situation in the country. 

He pointed out that voting fraud occurred during the 2020 multiparty democracy general election, which was not adequately addressed by officials. 

Consequently, the Tatmadaw declared a State of Emergency in accordance with the 2008 Constitution and appointed suitable military and civilian personnel to assist the SAC in safeguarding the nation's interests.

The Senior General further noted that certain armed ethnic groups exploited the political crisis to expand their control, leading to terrorist attacks that displaced locals.

 He stated that these insurgents have used administrative buildings and civilians as human shields in their efforts to resist Tatmadaw's counterattacks. 

Additionally, they have encouraged displaced people to return to their lands and recruited new members.

He assured that the Tatmadaw would continue to protect the country's sovereignty and respond to terrorist activities based on intelligence and situational needs. 

He urged residents of towns and villages occupied by these groups to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to exploitation.

The occasion was attended by SAC’s Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, SAC members Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Porel Aung Thein, and Khun San Lwin, Union Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Dr. Thet Khaing Win, U Myo Thant, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, senior military officers, the commander of Eastern Command, and other government and departmental personnel.
