A member of border guard force (BGF) was shot dead and a civilian was wounded by a gunshot at the security gate of a suspension bridge between Mokkanin Village and Sanpya Village, next to the Ye-Thanbyuzayet road in Ye Township, according to locals.

A resident said that it was known that the members of the People's Defence Force (PDF) came and attacked at the security gate of the suspension bridge using a truck.

He continued, “A BGF reservist Saw Thiha from the security gate was shot and killed. Also, Daw Yamin Thant, who was selling goods near the gate, received a gunshot wound."

The resident said that Daw Yamin Thant's injuries were serious and the social assistance and rescue team took her to Mawlamyine People Hospital.
