A vehicle from a charity association going to evacuate the stranded locals in Muse 105-mile Myanmar-China border trade zone near Mongyu Village, northern Shan State was shot and two women on the vehicle were injured, according to sources.
Hnalone Hla (A beautiful heart) philanthropic association’s vehicle was shot and the 70 years old woman and 20 years old woman evacuated from Mongyu Village who were onboard the vehicle were injured at arm and leg.
Similarly, Myit Myat Parami blood donation association’s vehicle that went to evacuate the IDPs from lower Nant Hwe village and the wife and two sons of the association’s chairman were also unable to make a contact, it said.
“Today, we rescued three times per vehicle but shot at the final round. We didn’t know which side shot us. Bullets entered from the driver’s seat, and from the front. We lost contact with Myit Myat Parami blood donation association’s vehicle owned by Ko Aung Naing Win who went to lower Nant Hwe village for evacuation,” said a member of philanthropic association to the Eleven Media.
Moreover, it was learnt that they found four people believed to be a family were lying dead under a Bayan tree at the exit of Muse but unable to do anything as clashes broke out.
Rescue operation was temporarily stopped and the injured were sent to Muse hospital according to members of philanthropic associations.
Some locals evacuated on their plans and some elderly people were stayed at their houses to look after the houses from thieves and robbers. There are nearly 500 IDPs from Mongyu village and they are temporarily sheltering at their relatives’ houses, and monasteries.
As a result of the fighting took place from November 26 to 29, at least eight people including three children were killed and 25 were injured. In the Muse 105-mile Myanmar-China border trade zone, some buildings and trucks, buildings around the environs, Mongyu high school building, fire station, religious building, warehouses and houses were destroyed, and hundreds of locals fled from their homes.
