Major General Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson of the State Administration Council (SAC), yesterday said there have been rumors that schools have closed in some townships due to the ongoing armed conflicts, addiding that no schools will be closed and they will continue to open.
“We found that rumors about school closures are now spreading. In some townships, schools might have been closed in this situation. But rumour has it that all schools will be closed. Concerning this case, no schools will be closed and schools are being opened normally,” said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.
He said that those who want to disrupt the state’s social and economic sectors are now spreading the rumors.
“The universities and colleges will be opened starting from November 23. The students’ enrolment has been accepted since the 16th of this month and the rate of enrolment appears to increase this year. Under the security concerns, the distance University’s examination centers in Loikaw and katha were suspended and the examination will be held later,” said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.
Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun pointed out the rumors spreading by the destructive elements with the collaboration of untrusted medias under the current situations of the country.
He pointed out that they attack now against the education sector likewise their attacks on fuel and banking sectors and called for cooperation of the students and parents to protect the future of the students and the country.
