Spokesman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Major General Zaw Min Tun said that the 12 places destroyed on Mandalay-Muse Union Highway have been repaired and work will be carried out to have security as quickly as possible as it plays a vital role in transporting commodities.
He gave the information during a briefing on the clashes in northern Shan State on November 18.
TNLA and PDF combined forces destroyed three places before reaching Naungcho and 9 places between Naungcho and Kyaukme on Mandalay-Muse Union Highway.
“All these 12 places have been repaired and we will work on security there as it is one of the important roads for the people and for flow of commodities,” said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.
Concerning the clashes, he said that a small military checkpoint in Namhkam, northeastern Shan State in North-East Command Headquarter was attacked on November 18 and the military had re-captured it. In Namtphatkar, some civilians were injured as the shells fired by MNDAA/TNLA fell in the residential areas.
