EMG holds 9th Kathina robes offering ceremony at Pwint Tauk village monastery in Sidoktaya Township

Eleven Media Group (EMG) and village well-wishers held the 9th Kathina robes offering ceremony at Pwint Tauk village monastery in Sidoktaya Township, Magway Region, today.

Due to the Mone Creek flooding in July 2015, the Pwint Tauk village monastery, the school and houses were flooded. EMG and well-wishers therefore donated rice, edible oil and consumer goods to the village and also built and donated 100 million kyats’ worth of a new monastery and an ordination hall and statues.

It is the 9th time EMG staff and families have donated alms for the Pwint Tauk village monastery.

At the ceremony, Kathina robes and alms were offered to 20 monks from the monastery and charity food was provided to local people of Pwint Tauk village and the surrounding villages.

Moreover, EMG held a rice offering ceremony in conjunction with the Kathina ceremony.
