A policeman from Winka Police Station in Winka Village, Bilin Township, Mon State, was reportedly shot and killed on the morning of November 4.
The victim was Zaw Naing Win, a policeman from Winka Police Station. At about 11:30 am on November 4, two gunmen arrived on a motorcycle and shot him when was at U Paung To Restaurant on Bilin-Kyaikhto Road in Winka Village, said a person close to security forces.
"The policeman sustained two bullet wounds below the left neck, one bullet wound in the right thigh, and one bullet wound in the right elbow. He died at the scene,” he added.
Zaw Naing Win served as a policeman at Bilin Township Police Station for five years, and he was transferred to Winka Police Station six months ago.
After the shooting, security forces arrived and conducted an investigation. The policeman’s body was sent to Taungzun Station Hospital, according to local residents.
