There are many people who have booked hotel reservations in Chaungtha Beach for the upcoming Thadingyut holiday period and almost all the rooms are full, sources said.

“Pre-bookings are almost full. There are a total of 26 hotels and guest houses that are currently open in Chaungtha Beach. Most of the locals visited Chaungtha. Currently 1,300 or 1,400 visitors came on weekends and about 500 or 600 visitors came on weekdays regularly. This is the current situation. If it's a festival day, more than 15,000 people visited the beach including the guests and day trippers," answered an official from Department of Hotels and Tourism.

"A safe water line has been set on the beach for the safety of visitors. They are not allowed to cross the line. There is also a rescue team. Daily cleaning is also done collectively," answered an official from Chaungtha Beach.

It is reported that travellers who come to Chaungtha Beach also visit Shwe Thaungyan Beach, which is not far from Chaungtha.
