A woman was killed in a head-on collision involving a tow truck, two motorbikes and a trishaw at mile post No. 163/3 on Yangon-Mawlamyine road near Phyuba village, Paung Township, Mon State, around 5 pm of October 14, according to locla sources.
The tow truck carrying plywood that heading to Thaton Township sped and plunged to the opposite traffic lane near Phyuba village. The truck then collided with two motorbikes and a trishaw. It continued to collide the building situated on the roadside and overturned, according to the locals.
“The victim lived in Khalaukin ward of Zin Kyik Township. She was hit by the tow truck while she was driving her motorbike. Other man was also injured,” said a local resident.
The body was sent to the Paung People’s Hospital by alocal social welfare team, and the relevant police station filed a charge against the truck driver over reckless driving.
