Policeman from Paung Township Police Station, Mon State, was shot dead beside Yangon-Mawlamyine road at about 5pm on September 3, according to local sources.

The victim was surveillance policeman Ko Ko Lwin. Two unknown gunmen on a motorbike shot him[Ko Ko Lwin] near Sannakhwa bridge beside Yangon-Mawlamyine road between Moe Naing Ward and Paung Ward in Paung Township, according to local.

“We heard gunshots. Later, we knew that the surveillance policeman from Paung Township Police Station was shot,” said a local resident.

The policeman died of bullet wounds at the scene. A local social welfare organization sent the body to the Paung Township People’s Hospital.

Likewise, policeman Tun Naing Lin from Zingyik Police Station was shot dead near Bridge No. 165/6 on Yangon-Mawlamyine road in Pangone village, Zingyik town of Paung Township, Mon State, on the evening of August 12.
