More drop bomb attacks on construction site of temporary Kyone Eait Bailey Bridge

The construction site of a temporary bailey bridge which is being built to replace the old Kyone Eait Bridge situated between Thaton and Bilin Townships on Yangon-Mawlamyine road was attacked again with drop bombs around 3pm of July 23, according to a source close to the police.

While construction workers were working on the site, seven bombs from flying drones fell onto the construction site of Kyone Eait bridge but no one was hurt, said the source.

The bridge has faced drone attacks seven times in total.

The Kyone Eait Bridge was mined by the KNU Brigade No.1 and N0.2 and the combined team of KNLA and PDF members around 4:30 am of June 29. Due to the explosion, three private cars were destroyed. Among them, two cars fell into the creek from the bridge. One civilian died and another was injured due to an explosion at the Kyone Eait bridge. 

After the explosion, the security members and departmental officials who went to check the bridge for repair on the highway were also attacked with drop bombs. A district engineer died, 12 police members, nine members of police force, two staff from administration department, three members of fire brigade as well as two staff from Shwe Than Lwin Highway Company were injured.
