A man was killed and three others were injured when a heavy shell exploded at ward-2 in Kawkareik Township, Kayin State according to SAC news information team.

KKO (separatist group) and PDF attacked security forces carrying out security in the area from North-East of 2500 metre. After exchanged of fire, KKO (separatist group) and PDF retreated from the area but the heavy shell fired by the KKO and PDF hit ward-2 in Kawkareik Township and killed a man from the ward and injured three others. A motorcycle was also destroyed according to SAC news information team.

The injured were sent to hospital and being treated for their injuries. Security forces have been carrying out necessary security measures and investigations have been taken to those involved in the attack according to the statement issued by the news information team.
