Strong winds have caused trees to collapse and seriously injured two men in Aleman Village, Bokepyin Township, Taninthayi Region, local sources say.
Some small houses also fell down due to the high winds that occurred on June 5.
“As there were strong winds in Ward No.1 of Aleman Village at about 9.45 am on June 5, a big tree fell on U Tun Aung’s house with wooden walls and thatch roofing. The 51 years old house owner was seriously injured in the head,” said U Moe Aung, the village in charge.
He is now receiving medical treatment.
Likewise, a 19-year-old man by the name of Kyaw Thura Soe also sustained a serious head injury after being hit by a boat while he was tying it during the strong wind.
