Two suspects getting involved in the explosions at the building where parcels are accepted near the main gate of Insein Prison in Yangon that killed eight people and wounded 18 others have been arrested, MRTV reported at 8pm news hour on November 14.

It was already announced that investigation had started since the explosions occurred on the morning of October 19. Chan Myae Thu (aka) Ju Juu (aka) JULU, aged 25, who made a video clip of bomb explosions at the prison building and released it on social media, was arrested at Dagon University bus stop in Dagon Myothit (East) Township on October 25. Further investigation led to the arrest of her 25-year-old husband Kaung Htet (aka) Po Si.

According to the MRTV report, Kaung Htet confessed that he was contacted by a woman named Sun Ye via Signal to blow up Insein Prison and collaborate with Kyaw Hein (still at large). He was instructed to target prison officers and staff supervising the prison gate and parcel acceptance building.

Further investigation revealed that by order of Special Task Agency Of Burma (STA), Kaung Htet also got involved in shooting two officers from Thingangyun Township Immigration and Population Department on August 12 this year.

The MRTV report said measures were being taken to take action against the arrested couple and arrest other accomplices.
