The decomposed body of a man who was killed with his limbs tied was found in the compound of Phaya Hnesu Monastery in Myaynigone Ward, Mawlamyine, Mon State, on the morning of November 12, according to local aid organizations.
An official from an aid agency said the man who was murdered was Ko Zaw Zaw (aka) Ko Mot Seik, a motorcycle dealer, adding that he was supposed to have been killed about three or four days.
“We found him dead and decomposed with his hands and legs tied near the religious hall in the compound of Phaya Hnesu Monastery on a lane leading up to Mawlamyine Railway Station,” he said.
The body was sent to the mortuary of Mawlamyine People’s Hospital after being inspected by authorities.
On the night of November 3 also, a motorcycle taxi driver was murdered near Kawkhani Village in Mawlamyine and the motorbike was taken away.
