Thailand detained 12 Myanmar nationals for illegal entry via the border routes, according to the reports in Thailand.

The Kanchanaburi news agency reported that the Myanmar nationals who entered illegally using roads in the forest on the Myanmar-Thailand border were arrested in Kanchanaburi district of Thailand on November 2 and 3.

Eight men and four women from Myanmar were arrested using illegal means to get a job in Thailand. The news agency stated that the people who entered Kanchanaburi province of Thailand, bordering the Dawei district of Tanintharyi region, using roads in the forest, were arrested at night time.

They are from Yangon and Bago regions, and Mon and Rakhine states, and that they are entering to get jobs in Samut Sakhon, Rayong, Kanchanaburi and Bangkok in Thailand. In order to get a job in Thailand, they had to pay 20,000 to 30,000 Thai baht per person to the brokers and they were arrested while they entered Thailand through border. The Thai authorities announced that the arrested Myanmar nationals are being detained at the relevant police station and are being processed according to the law.
