Department of Telecommunications issued a statement on November 3 that users must check their SIM cards and if they are not filling forms correctly, their SIM cards will be cancelled and the final date for registration is set on January 31, 2023.
The Department will check the information of SIM card users with data collected in the national data base of the Ministry of Immigration and Population, if they found out incorrect data or wrongly filled data, these SIM cards will be closed, according to the statement.
Therefore, users must check their identifications and re-register their SIM cards by 31 January, 2023 as the latest, according to the Department of Telecommunications.
Users have to check their citizenship card information on the registration of the SIM card and if they want to update the information, they can re-register them at the relevant shops of the mobile operators and through websites or applications.
Users can check their ID by dialing *601# for Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications (MPT), *979*3*3# for Atom, 666# for Ooredoo and *966# for Mytel, it said.
