State owned news media announced that gold coins weighing one tical, and half-tical will be sold in Yangon and Mandalay Regions starting from September 23.
In Nay Pyi Taw, gold coins are sold since September 14 with the price of Ks.2.8 million per tical.
SAC information team leader and deputy minister for Information Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun said that more than 4 visses of gold coins were sold till September 16.
