A Myanmar citizen was arrested on September 17 for stealing the motorcycle of a food delivery boy on Asian Highway in Mae Sot, Thailand, Thai media reported.

The Thai delivery boy complained to the local police about his stolen motorbike that was left by a roadside as he went to bring a mechanic for its repair. Then, the police searched for the thief and found a Myanmar worker together with the motorbike in evidence within 15 minutes, according to the Thai media sources.  

U Moe Gyo, chairman of a Mae Sot based organization, Joint Action Committee for Burma Affairs (JACBA), said it was stealing from others that Thai citizens abhor.

“If a certain thing from the Thai citizens such as bikes, motorbikes or even fruit is stolen, the thief will be sent to jail if he cannot pay the fine 10 times the price of the thing the stole. Now, in the present case, he will face legal actions for his stealth as well as illegal border crossing. Thai people hate stealing from others. So I want to say. Don’t do what others don’t like,” U Moe Gyo commented.   

The Myanmar worker, who stole the motorbike of a Thai delivery man, is facing legal actions against his stealth and illegal border crossing.
