A young man riding a motor cycle was shot dead in Moehnyin, Kachin State on August 31 at 6:00 pm.

Sai Saw Lin Aung, 35 years old, was son of the owner of Miba Myitta motor cycle repair shop in Oatkyin ward, Moehnyin. Two men riding another motor cycle shot him from close range and he was died on the spot. According to police record, 9mm bullets were found at the place.

A witness said he was shot near BEHS-3 entrance. The dead body was sent to Moehnyin hospital.

“We didn’t know who carried out the killing. The purpose of the killing may be connected with politics or robbing or he was killed mistakenly,” said an eye witness who doesn’t want to be identified.

 Moehnyin police station opened a case and investigation is being taken.

According to data collected, 57 people were killed in the past 10 months in Kachin State.
