An administrative official was shot dead in Pyigyitagon Township, Mandalay Region, while he was switching on street lamp posts at about 7pm on August 28.
U San Maung, a 100-house administrator of Thinbangon Ward in Pyigyitagon Township, was shot two times by two men with a pistol on a motorbike following him as he turned on street lights at the corner of 121st Street and 50th Street.
A bullet pierced through his left cheek, while another bullet hit the left arm. He died while receiving treatment at Mandalay General Hospital.
