Terrorists shot dead six local residents and took away two vehicles in Saw Township, Magway Region, the information team of the State Administration Council reported on August 23.

U Khin Maung Lin and his family were watching the TV at his home in Zeyar Ward, Saw Township, at about 9.30pm on August 21 when around 15 armed men arrived and shot them. Then, the terrorists took away a Faw and a Light Truck.

U Khin Maung Lin, his wife, daughter-in-law, granddaughter and brother as well as a neighbour were killed in the shootings. Another neighbour arriving at home was injured, the SAC information team reported in a statement.  

Security forces are taking necessary measures to expose and arrest the culprits, the statement added.
