Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) and the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, met with officials from the Russian Ministry of Defence to discuss ways to enhance military-technical cooperation, announced the information team of the State Administration Council on July 13.
The statement said that Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is in the Russian Federation, held a working meeting with officials of Ministry of Defence representing Minister for Defence Army General Sergey Kuzhugetovich Shoigu, in the lobby of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation on the afternoon of July 11.
Joint Secretary of the SAC Lieutenant General Ye Win Oo, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, U Lwin Oo, Myanmar Ambassador to Russia and Brigadier General Moe Kyaw of the Myanmar Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) attended the meeting, according to a press release from the State Administration Council.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on ways to enhance existing friendship and military-technical cooperation between the two armies, to continue to participate in defense capabilities competitions and exercises in Russia, on the political situation in Myanmar and the cooperation between two countries and two armies in various fields.
After the meeting, the Chairman of the State Administration Council and the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services and officials of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation exchanged badges and souvenirs, according to a press release from the State Administration Council.
The Chairman and members of the State Administration Council visited the Russian Atomic Corporation Rosatom State Corporations and the Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos and met with officials. He met and held talks with a delegation led by the President of the Russia-Myanmar Friendship Association and delegation led by Mr Ivan Polyakov, Chairman of the Russia-ASEAN Business Council at the Metropol Hotel in Moscow.
