SAC’s peace negotiation team, RCSS sign agreements after 3 days of talks

The peace negotiation team of the State Administration Council (SAC) and a delegation led by the chairman of the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) held talks and signed agreements following three days of negotiations, the SAC’s information team reported.

Their second-day meeting took place at the meeting hall of the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre in Nay Pyi Taw on May 22.

During the meeting, Lieutenant General Win Bo Shein, a member of the National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiation Committee, explained the committee’s findings on the agreements contained in Part 1, 2 and 3 of the Union Accord, and remaining issues to be discussed in Part 3. RCSS asked for further information.

They then discussed general issues related to peace and development, and signed agreements following three days of negotiations. 

RCSS Chairman General Yawd Serk and leader of the peace negotiation team Lieutenant General Yar Pyae made concluding remarks.

The meeting was attended by member of the SAC chairman of the National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiation Committee Union Minister at the Office of the Union Government (1) leader of the peace negotiation team Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, SAC Member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, Secretary of the Committee Lt-Gen Min Naung, Chairman of the RCSS General Yawd Serk, RCSS Secretary-1 Col Sai Ngin and Member of RCSS Central Executive Committee Col Song Han.

The RCSS delegation also held talks with SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on May 20 before the May 21-22 meeting. Then, the agreements were signed for the three days of discussions.
