Ex. Yangon Chief Minister and ex. transport minister appeared at court as plaintiff-witnesses against the State Counselor

Former Yangon Region chief minister Phyo Min Thein and former Yangon Region transport minister Nilar Kyaw appeared at the special court in Nay Pyi Taw Council area on December 17 regarding the corruption charges against the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi, according to sources. They were acting as plantiff-witness on behalf of the ruling military. 

In previous court hearing, chief investigator of Anti-Corruption Commission was mainly examined and the defendant lawyers also made cross examinations. On December 17 court hearing, two plaintiff-witnesses were examined, sources said.

Former Yangon Region chief minister Phyo Min Thein and former Yangon Region minister Nilar Kyaw appeared at the court as prosecution witnesses  for the case against leasing 1.86 acres of land in No.60 University Avenue, Bahan Township, Yangon Region for opening of Daw Khin Kyi Foundation headquarters. 

At the court appearing, Daw Aung San Su Kyi was seen wearing prison uniform which is a white top and brown htami, according to sources. Dr. Myo Aung, former chair of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area was seen also wearing prison uniform which is a white top and blue Longyi.

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi , Dr Myo Aung (former mayor of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area) and Min Thu (one of the members of Nay Pyi Taw City Development Committee) being charged against land ownership issues for the projects in Nay Pyi Taw were not examined at December 17 court hearing.

Similarly, Layaung Taw Vocational School of Daw Khin Kyi Foundation and for the Penal Code case 2, in which Phyo Min Thein bribed Aung San Suu Kyi with gold and U.S dollars and file case No-5 of Penal Code, accusing that Aung San Suu Kyi, chairperson of Daw Khin Kyi Foundation used the donation made to the foundation to construct a one-story building of her own were not examined at the yesterday’s court hearing.

Another court hearing for State Counsellor, Dr. Myo Aung, Ye Min Oo and Min Thu will be held on January 7.
