Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on October 27 that 44 townships in eight regions and states had been excluded from the “Stay at Home” order for COVID-19.
According to the statement, the MOH has exercised its authority under sub-section (b) of section 21 of the Infectious Disease Prevention Law.
The ministry is currently working to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and orders have been issued for “Stay at Home” arrangement in high-risk townships in Nay Pyi Taw, regions and states.
Due to the strict adherence to COVID-19 prevention regulations by the people living in the respective townships, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 has decreased in the last 14 days. Laboratory-confirmed patients also have a lower risk of transmitting the virus from one person to another. During the Stay at Home program, health education activities are conducted by the relevant government departments, organizations and the public. The number of recurrences in the 14 days after the operation was also used to identify those who had been in contact with the laboratory-confirmed patient. Township administrations bodies, health department staff, related departments and organizations, volunteers and people are involved in COVID-19 control activities which caused the decrease of the number of infected people, it said.
