Kayah State NDF party chairman Han Tha was stabbed to death many times at his home compound in Mingalar ward on August 13 at 3:30 pm.

He represented NDF party in 2020 General Election and competed as a candidate for State parliament, Loikaw Township constituency (1).

“Formerly he worked as EC member of National League for Democracy (NLD). Later, I heard that he was removed from his party. I didn’t know the reason why.  In 2020 Election, he represented NDF party,” said a young man who knew him.

“He was over 70 years of age and worked as an electronic repairman. Four men came to his compound saying they wanted to repair a TV. He is a very hard working man. He worked hard when he was with NLD party and with NDF party,” said a woman from Mingalar ward.

In July 4, a man from Kyi Tharyar ward was also killed by gunmen accusing of spying.
