MYIKYINA-----Two administrators from Moemauk Township and Kjeinan Ward in Bhamaw District, Kachin State were shot at night of August 1st, according to the sources.

After Kyaw Swe, Moemauk Township Administrator had a dinner with other administrators, he was shot while returning to his staff quarter.

He was shot around 9:10 pm of August 1st.  Before arriving his staff quarter, there has been a slope where he was shot. Later, he was sent to No.11 Military Hospital in Bhamaw Township. The People’s Defence Force-PDF from Bhamauk Township has a grudge against him[Kyaw Swe] before he arrived in Bhamauk Township,” said a towns elder from Bhamauk Township.

“The Township administrator is getting better at the military hospital. But, he can’t say exactly about the incident. Likewise, the Kjeinan Ward administrator got minor injury,” said an official from Moemauk Township Administrative Department.

Kyaw Swe had severed as the administrator in Hlaingthayar Township, Yangon Region, during the period of political change starting on February 1st. Later, he was transferred to Moemauk Township, Kachin State.

In Kachin State, 15 peoples such as ward administrators, village- in-charges and civilians had been assassinated within two months on late May 9th.
