Myanmar has extended the suspension of domestic flights between Yangon International Airport and other airports across the country until December 15 due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak situation, according to the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
Currently, domestic flight schedules are being halted as Covid-19 cases increase.
The Ministry informed the Civil Aviation Department about the extended suspension of domestic scheduled flights till December 15 as infections spread to various regions and states as well as Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.
The State-run Myanmar National Airlines, Air KBZ, Air Thanlwin, Mann Yadanarpon and Golden Myanmar have also announced the suspension of their domestic flight schedules until December 15.
Normally, domestic flights are conducted among 27 airports in various cities including Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw. However, their suspension has been prolonged again till December 15 as a measure to curb virus infection.
